Hello! I’m Vanesa, I’m from Tortosa and I’m an UNSTOPPABLE.
In 2013 I was diagnosed with Follicular lymphoma, a “chronic” type of lymphoma that is difficult to cure. But that wasn’t all, in November 2018, I was diagnosed with Myeloblastic Leukaemia (secondary), I underwent chemotherapies and in September 2019 I had a relapse.
After that, the donor search protocol was set in motion, as I was not compatible with my relatives. And you know what? We found a compatible donor!!! On 29 November 2019 I had an anonymous donor transplant, an unknown person saved my life.
Living 200km away from the hospital, I had to stay in one of the hospitality apartments run by the Josep Carreras Foundation. Despite being far away, I felt at home, they looked after me very well and kept me company. I gradually recovered with the help and love of my husband, Jordi, and my wonderful daughters, Emma and Carla.
